Ashland Resort Snow Days

Last year we introduced a new snow policy which will be in place again this year.  In the interest of assuring your safe journey home from a winter visit at Ashland Resort, we are instituting a SNOW DAYS policy.  If a registered guest is trapped in the campground by fresh snowfall that occurs after arrival and if that snow has not melted by the date of planned departure,  then the guest may request to extend their stay with free SNOW DAYS until it’s safe to travel home (subject to site availability).  Call Ashland Resort for further details (888) 862-2322.

Ashland Resort Expands

Return guests to Ashland Resort will experience a few changes. New Ashland Deluxe Cottages made their debut on schedule and in time for their first full weekend of guests over the July 4th Holiday.  The kitchenettes were immediate hits.    We’re still applying finishing landscaping touches, mostly grass seed and straw.  Check out our webcam for a real time view.  The Ashland Resort Homepage now provides descriptive information, and photos on the new cottages as well as posted rates.  The revised campground map legend identifies Ashland Deluxe Cottages as AD 1 through AD 5.  Reservation activity has been robust, so don’t delay your call or online visit to nail down a special date.

Check out the upgrades!!!

• New Grills:  Recent guests to our Cottages and Lodges will notice neat conveniently located Holland grills.  The new grills are sure to expand meal planning options.  Plans are to eventually install grills at all remaining cabins. 

• WiFi upgrade:  Campground WiFi has recently been upgraded with a move from dish to DSL.  A major upgrade to our telecommunications infrastructure delivers more reliable and higher quality connectivity to Ashland Resort.

• TV just got better:  Ashland Resort has just completed a major enhancement of our campground cable distribution system producing improved signal quality, better video images and added channel offerings. 

See the Area’s History Come to Life

While you’re with us this summer, be sure to check out The Terror of the Tug, an outdoor drama based on the local coal mine wars of the early 20th Century. The story centers around the murder of Sid Hatfield and Ed Chambers by private mine detectives on the steps of the McDowell County Courthouse. Shows play on various dates throughout the summer at 8pm at the McArts Amphitheatre located off Rt 52 in Welch. Call 304-585-7959 for details.
