Update April 2012 Jeff Lusk assures us that Pocahontas Trail development is on schedule for opening on May 25th, the Friday before Memorial Day. Trail signs are currently being installed. The trail head will be in Bramwell. The location will initially serve as a temporary facility, offering public access with ample parking and rest facilities. Over the next several months, an adjacent building will be transformed into a permanent first class Welcome Center. They urge guests and local residents to help maintain a clean litter-free trail system. On your next visit, please do your part for clean and green. Special efforts are being made to promote the natural beauty of trails and facilities within the system. The perfect lodging location for accessing the Pocahontas Trail System plus the Indian Ridge and Pinnacle Creek systems is Ashland Resort. Update March 2012 Mark it down on your calendar… May 25th, the Friday before Memorial Day, the Pocahontas Trail will open. Jeff Lusk recently shared that long sought after date. Public access will be at a Trail Head being readied in the Town of Bramwell at a location just off of U.S. Route 52. Hatfield-McCoy signage will clearly mark the way. The Town of Bramwell and its local merchants have been looking forward to the opening for more than a year… as have we at Ashland Resort. As most of you are aware, the Pocahontas Trail System is located in western Mercer County and will connect to the Indian Ridge Trail System near Ashland Resort. Watch for more trail details in our March email news.
